After bringing just $125,000 as a yearling at Keeneland September in 2024, PRESIDE (Tiz the Law) impressed the partnership of Spendthrift Farm, St. Elias Stable and West Point Thoroughbreds enough at the 2025 OBS April Sale to inspire a $1.5-million bid after working in :10 flat. Out of a stakes-placed half-sister to Canadian champion female sprinter River Maid (Where's the Ring), the 9-2 morning-line shot debuts for trainer Steve Asmussen and enters off a solid gate drill May 31 (four furlongs in :47 2/5 {3/81}). The outside-drawn Leading Change (Gun Runner), an $800,000 Keeneland September grad for Wathnan Racing, is a half-brother to MGISW and $5 million-Whisper Hill Farm broodmare Shedaresthedevil (Daredevil). First dam Starship Warpspeed, who sadly passed in 2024, produced another pair of graded stakes horses in Star of Wonder (Uncle Mo) and Mojovation (Quality Road) while her daughter, Moonstone (Gemologist), is the dam of GISP La Wally (Constitution). Brad Cox, who trained Shedaresthedevil, also has training duties here. TJCIS PPS

Scottish Lassie (McKinzie) makes her return to the races off a nine-month layoff dating back to last year's GI Cotillion Stakes at Parx where she came home fourth as the beaten favorite one race after romping by 15 1/2 lengths in the GI Coaching Club American Oaks. A Grade I winner at both two and three, Scottish Lassie ran third in the GI Acorn Stakes one year ago for trainer Jorge Abreu. TJCIS PPS

Just a Holiday (Justify), purchased by Marc Gunderson's Twin Oaks Bloodstock for $800,000 last year at Keeneland September, is a half-brother to GI Longines Test Stakes winner Chi Town Lady (Verrazano) and to SW Bergen (Liam's Map). Entered off a best-of-31 work May 30 (three furlongs in :36 1/5), the juvenile is sure to take money for top juvenile trainer Wesley Ward. TJCIS PPS

Closing out the night in California, $975,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga grad Newton (Munnings) will seek to add to Bob Baffert's top debut numbers. He is a half to a pair of stakes winners in Point Proven (Gun Runner) and Twenty Carat (Into Mischief) along with MSP Stowaway (Gun Runner) and out of a mare who is a half to GISW Shared Account (Pleasantly Perfect).

Lined up inside is Roast (Practical Joke) for Michael McCarthy. A half to stakes winners Golden Glider (Ghostzapper) and Glamanation (Point of Entry), he cost $725,000 as a yearling at Keeneland September in 2024. TJCIS PPS
